Ms. Sharma has over 35 years of experience in planning, design, construction, project management, of wastewater treatment facilities and storm water management facilities. She also has extensive experience in managing maintenance and operations of a large system of wastewater treatment plants, flood control reservoirs, collection systems, lift stations, pump stations, waterways, and Biosolids Handling facilities.

Ms. Sharma was the Director of Maintenance and Operations for the Metropolitan Water reclamation District of Greater Chicago from May 2010 to May 2015. Prior to that, she was Assistant Director of Maintenance from July 2003 through May 2010. Her responsibilities included Maintenance and Operations of a vast infrastructure including, Seven Wastewater Treatment Plants, 110 miles of Deep Tunnel and ancillary control/drop structures, 550+ miles of intercepting sewers, 3 Bio Solids handling facilities, 32 Flood Control Reservoirs, 2 CSO Reservoirs, 1,500 miles of Small Streams, and 12 Ancillary Pumping Stations, one Hydro-Electric Power Station, with a budget of over $200 Million and a staff of over 950 that included Managers, Engineers, all skilled trades including Pipefitters, Plumbers, EITM’s, Electricians, Sheet Metal workers, Machinists, Electrical Operators, Laborers, Operating Engineers and contractors.
